To keep everyone's interest up, thought we'd share some of the component specs for the upcoming build so you can get an idea of the power and coolness this bike will have.
NetGain Motors - WarP 9 IMPULSE
- NetGain recommends a maximum vehicle weight of 3600lbs or less when using this motor coupled to a transmission.
- Maximum operating voltage 170V, recommended voltage 150-160V
- 9.25" diameter - same mounting pattern and length as ADC 9". This makes it a drop-in replacement for the ADC 9" motor
- HP = 70 @ 120 Volts DC (435 Amps)
- 116 Ft. pounds torque
- Weight, approx. 143 pounds
- 5500 RPM
- Exceeds class "H" insulation standard
- Industry standard mounting and bolt configuration
- Large style brushes, factory preseated over 90% contact
- Drive and tail shafts keyed - pilot bearing hole with 5/16 - 18 mounting hole
- Tailshaft pre-drilled to accept speed sensor kit
- Length: 16.7 inches
- Drive bearing: 6207
- Com bearing: 6305
- Drive shaft length: 1.5"
- Drive shaft diameter: 1.1250"
- Drive shaft keyway: .250" * .130"
- Tailshaft length: 2.00"
- Tailshaft mounting hole: 1/4 - 20

Controller
- 144-156V nominal voltage input
- 1000 amp
- Dimensions (LxWxH): 12.5" x 6.75" x 3 5/8"
- Weight: approximately 9lbs
- Built-in heatsink - no external heatsink required
- Three adjustments: (1) ramp (acceleration), (2) sensitivity and range of current adjustment, and (3) motor current limit
- Uses 0-5kohm potentiometer as throttle input (PB-6))
- A precharge resistor is required and will be provided
- A precharge resistor is placed across the contactor contacts to allow the controller's internal capacitors to charge slowly before the contacts are switched closed.

Hello from ground zero of the hostmydragbike HQ. I want to take this time to tell you a little background on this project and later on I will give you an idea where I hope to go with it.
I have been building conventional motorcycles for several years and touring with some of the major players in that industry. I was also a computer tech for several fortune 500 companies for 14 years. So the thought was make a really fast dragbike with a server on it and market it as " THE WORLDS FASTEST SERVER" . Great idea but 2 things were missing- the right crew and the right marketing. With the economy not great the bike industry has slowed and I took a job with a company called hostmysite.com and found that they had the customer service I always had felt was important and some great techs. I had also added a Fab. and Mechanical guru at my shop named KEV THE REV.He is without a doubt the best partner I could have asked for.
I had arranged to display some of my work at host my site's 11th anniversary party and spoke with their marketing department about my idea. It was met with "Yea that sounds cool...bla....bla...bla. Earl Smith and I kept bugging people and eventually marketing asked " How much and How Long?". I answered those questions and we came to an agreement. We were off to the races so to speak. Rob C. and I decided that we needed more of a challenge so we made the bike all electric (thought of earlier but figured ehh) make it 2 load balanced servers and for good measure gps and webcams. Oh yea we also only get 100 days to build it!!!
So for the next 90 or so days I will be doing tech support at night and building this bike with Kev during the day. And trying to see my wife and son!!
Take a look around and meet all the F&(king brainiacs who will be doing the real work on the backend of this project. Without their "donated time" this would never happen.

Welcome to the great launch of HostMyDragBike.com, soon to be followed by the launch of the actual drag bike. Besides are daily tasks in tech support at Hostmysite.com, we've been working to get both this website together and build an electric drag bike which will contain two load-balanced web/database servers which will stream things like live video, statistics (speed, GPS location, etc) over a wireless link.
Why?
We don't know, but one of the founding principles of Hostmysite.com is "Never say no" meaning that we find solutions rather than just not supporting something. We have to thank Shawn Darby of Darby Customs for the idea and initiative that eventually gave this project the green light. Keep an eye on the blog and our site for updates and progress. As you can see from the home page we've got 83 days, 11 hours, and 3 minutes until the bike is launched.
